Our foundation
What we
believe.
Our faith is rooted in Scripture, centered on Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Fundamental truths
Built on God's Word.
These sixteen doctrines express the shared biblical foundation of King's Cathedral and Chapels.
01 · The Scriptures Inspired
The Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are the authoritative rule of faith and conduct. See 2 Timothy 3:15–17 and 2 Peter 1:21.
02 · The One True God
There is one eternally self-existent God, Creator and Redeemer, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. See Deuteronomy 6:4 and Matthew 28:19.
03 · The Deity of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God: born of a virgin, sinless, crucified for us, bodily raised, and exalted at God's right hand.
04 · The Fall of Man
Humanity was created good and upright but fell through voluntary disobedience, bringing physical and spiritual death. See Genesis 1–3 and Romans 5.
05 · The Salvation of Man
Our only hope of redemption is through Jesus Christ. Salvation is received by repentance and faith, through grace. See Romans 10:13 and Ephesians 2:8.
06 · The Ordinances of the Church
Jesus commanded water baptism by immersion, and the church remembers His sacrifice through Holy Communion.
07 · Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Believers should seek the Father's promise of the Holy Spirit's empowering presence for life, witness, and ministry. See Acts 1:4–8.
08 · Initial Physical Evidence
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is witnessed in the New Testament by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. See Acts 2:4.
09 · Sanctification
Sanctification is separation from evil and dedication to God, lived daily through union with Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
10 · The Church and Its Mission
The Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, evangelize the world, make disciples, and demonstrate His love and compassion.
11 · The Ministry
God provides biblically called and equipped ministry to evangelize the world and build up the Body of Christ. See Ephesians 4:11–13.
12 · Divine Healing
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel and is provided through Christ's atoning work. See Isaiah 53:4–5 and James 5:14–16.
13 · The Blessed Hope
We await the resurrection of believers and their gathering to Christ at His coming. See 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17.
14 · The Millennial Reign of Christ
Christ will return visibly with His saints and reign on earth, bringing salvation and peace according to the promises of Scripture.
15 · The Final Judgment
Scripture teaches a final judgment and eternal accountability before God. See Revelation 20:11–15.
16 · The New Heavens and New Earth
We look forward to God's promised new heavens and new earth, where righteousness dwells. See 2 Peter 3:13 and Revelation 21–22.
